Probability, probability distributions; samples and approximate values for the unknown parameters of a distribution; normal, t, chi-square and F distribution; confidence intervals for the mean and variance, statistical tests for the mean and variance of a distribution; chi-square goodness-of-fit test; single and double analysis of variance; regression analysis and correlation.

Microbiology (Part II) - interdisciplinary

Testing the "sterility" of dosage forms (testing for sterility according to DAB, testing various water qualities, room and personnel hygiene, determining the value of antibiotic ointments, sufficient preservation in ophthalmic medicines, limulus test, testing the germ content of finished medicinal products)

Pharmaceutical theory I

Preparation of medicines according to pharmacy formulations (liquid preparations, powders, powders, hard gelatine capsules, pills, granules, suspensions, emulsions, ointments, creams, gels, pastes, suppositories, vaginal globules); Manufacture on a defect scale (tinctures, extracts, atomisation drying); stabilisation of medicinal preparations (recognition and elimination of incompatibilities and physical instabilities in ointments, suspensions and emulsions).

Granulation, compression and wrapping techniques; sterilisation processes; autoclave validation; in-process controls; manufacturing techniques for parenterals and ophthalmic drugs; aerosol manufacturing; freeze-drying.

Pharmaceutical-technological and biopharmaceutical analysis methods

Biopharmaceutical test methods (disintegration, dissolution, release, resorption); physical-pharmaceutical methods (particle size determination, sedimentation methods, flow behaviour, test methods for solid and disperse dosage forms, thermal methods, molar mass determination); evaluation of pharmacokinetic data.

Selected specialities (finished medicinal products) of the various pharmaceutical forms, instructions for use and technical information as well as scientific documentation including pharmacological data.

Dosage form theory II

Preparation and testing of peroral, parenteral and topical dosage forms; biopharmaceutical test methods; stability tests; determination of absorption constants; rheological testing of suspensions, emulsions, ointments, creams; lyophilisation.
