Funding from the Baden-Württemberg Foundation in the amount of 498,060 euros

Prof. Dr. Gert Fricker and Prof. Dr. Ulrike Müller have been awarded a grant of 498,060 euros for their project "Delivery of Biologicals across the Blood-Brain Barrier" as part of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation's "International Top-Level Research" competition. The international cooperation partner in this project is Prof. Dr. Elisabeth de Lange, University of Leiden, Netherlands.

Funding from the BMBF in the amount of 1,726,235 euros

The BMBF has provided funding of 1,726,235 euros for the BrainAim project, a consortium led by Prof. Fricker. The aim of the project, in which scientists from Stuttgart, Mannheim, Braunschweig and the IPMB are involved, is the pharmacokinetic and pharmacological investigation of a tumor necrosis factor receptor 2 (TNFR2) agonist, which will be made brain-compatible in a prodrug variant for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

Funding from the BMBF in the amount of 991,632 euros

The BMBF has awarded a research team from the IPMB (Prof. Fricker), the DKFZ (Dr. Riemer), Heidelberg University Hospital (Prof. Mier) and the LSI Bonn (Dr. Kübelbeck) a grant of 991,632 euros for the MunaVac project. The overall aim of MunaVac is to develop a platform technology for the GLP/GMP-compliant production of mucosal vaccines based on nanocarriers.
